Saturday Football Fun for the Under 6s
Saturday morning is for fun at Acland Fields in Cold Ash when we take all our young stars through a series of exciting and captivating drills and games so that they learn to play football as simply and as easily possible. Pretty much everything we do, we do with a ball.
We are delighted that this is supported by the Greenham Common Trust.
For all these sessions we are open to all boys and girls and we include children with Special Needs, Autism, Asbergers, Hearing impairments, ADHD and so on. In addition we are often helped by young people who are going through the Youth Offending reparation program.
10 a.m. and we start with the real littlies aged between 2 and 4.
With the youngest age groups we begin the process of teaching and coaching soccer skills with a street play concept of free play whilst learning kicking, trapping, passing and dribbling and other basic skills. Children are taught fun games in a safe environment. Games are designed to encourage interaction, communication and coordination ensuring everyone enjoys learning new skills. There is no pressure and no element of competition in these activities – just fun!
11. a.m. and we move onto those aged between 4 and 6.
Our programme rapidly progresses (along with the age and ability of the children) to more technical skills and team play using a variety of fun games designed to develop skills at the pace of the player – we never pressure children into doing things they don’t want to do. We always end this session with mini matches to capture children’s imagination.
Ages 6 and up
As we are qualified and experienced in running teams from U 7 to U18 and we currently have 14 youth teams and one adult team in Newbury and Basingstoke – go to www.csafc.co.uk for details.
